Middlesex Development League
Welcome to the home page of The MDL

The Middlesex Development League (The MDL) aims to inspire young people to play the game competitively, and in the Spirit of Cricket.

The MDL was setup by Middlesex Cricket in 2012 to respond to the needs of clubs in relation to the ongoing development of our younger players. Namely: to bridge the gap between age group cricket and adult sides; to provide an additional platform for young players to express their abilities in a longer format of the game; and to integrate young players more effectively into an adult environment.

Entry is open to any organisation that is affiliated to Middlesex Cricket.

All matches take place on Sundays, once school, college and university exams have finished in mid-June. The six-week Group Stage is arranged geographically and a minimum of seven players must be an Under 21 or below. All players wear coloured clothing and games are played with the pink ball.
